So buying one is not an option, well that is buying a Mustang that is 100% in order. But what if I bought myself a cheap one, a wreck or whatever you want to call it and re-build the car myself with my own hands. I can tell you, and those who know me will confirm that this idea is so unrealistic it shouldn’t even be on the list :-)

I basically got 2 left hands when it comes down to DIY. Too bad, because I could probably buy a cheap wreck (+/- 500$) and time is not an issue. Although buying all the separate parts will become expensive as you can see here. And looking at the image above, I guess all parts are needed.

I think you can fairly say option 2 is as valuable as a choice as option 1. Time to start thinking a bit more creative…

You know its not impossible, my father and I rebuilt a mustang with no help from a “pro” while it still lacked a paint job the car ran great, it was straight and most importantly it didn’t have any rust or leaks.
Thanks E – I know it can be done absolutely. But you really have to be quite a bit more handy than I am… trust me ;)
this convertible seems to be restaurable to me…the body seems kinda straight, seems to be surface rust mostly! (well, could be that the body is seriously damaged by the hit it had received in the front, fair amount of work to pull the body straight agaĆn ) if it got a serious rust issue you can check by knowing in which area it had been driven and where it stood for the last years! if it stood in a dry area like f.e. arizona, the metal should be healthy, this car seems to me as if it had been in a desert-like area for many years…….500 bucks are a good price for an early mustang convertible…plus the interior and rag top seem fair for a desert found at this price, so if i where you, i`d buy it
Hi, opening up a blog and I’ve started making rather diverse content. Do you mind if I blog about this blog? Obviously I will provide you and this site full acknowledgment.
I have one ongoing. It’s not difficult ,even if you haven’t done one before.
Remember the saying: How do you eat an elephant”
One bite at a time!
Do the hard work finding the right car to rebuild and start on it a project at a time. You’ll get your wish.
