Why 1965?

Like you can read in the title of this blog my wish is to get a Ford Mustang from 1965. Actually, the 1964-1966 models are all good, but in 1967 Ford did one of the first major redesigns and although it’s still a nice car, I find it less attractive compared to the ‘original’. From 1974 with the second generation, and 1979 with the third generation, etc… it only got worse everytime. The all American Muscle car had become just another random ugle car.

And then in 2004 Ford introduced the 5th generation, again a completely new redesign, drawing inspiration from the sixties models… and we all saw that it was good. They referred to it as retro-futurism apparently. I don’t really car what they called it, one thing was damn sure: the Ford Mustang was a muscle car again. And a real beautiful one.

So eventhough my real dream is to get that good old classic ’65 Ford Mustang, I won’t say no to a 2007 Shelby Mustang GT500 ;-)
