#12: Wazzaa!

There is another way I might get my Mustang, although I’ll need to find an awfull lot of free time to begin with and a lot of drinking is involved as well… although that’s less of a problem ;) The downside, even if I were to finish this ‘project’ I couldn’t exactly drive away with it. Here’s what it’s all about:

Art and Design student Jack Kirby from the University of Hertfordshire in England collected some 5,000 Budweiser beer cans to create a replica of a 1965 Ford Mustang. His inspiration for this project was an online contest by Bud to give away a real 65 Mustang.

I’ll better start drinking, I’m thinking mine should be made of Stella Artois though.

Amazing classic car pictures

What happens when you combine the racetrack of Spa-Francorchamps (undoubtedly the greatest racetrack in the world), some awesome classic cars and a skilled photographer? You get this:

Ok, fair enough, no Mustangs here but you got to admire the photography. As someone says in the comments of Djivy’s Flickr stream: “loving your shots, Anyone can take a picture of a nice car but it takes a little thought to capture the character of a car.”

Make sure you check out the other work from Djivy as well! And Djivy, if you ever have great Mustang shots to share… thinking about a new header here ;)

Great 3D Mustang art

While looking for a good Mustang picture I stubmled upon this Russian designer’s work. Dennis Denesyuk is a computer graphics designer who does some great work you can find here. In the 3D portfolio he has a really nice creation of a Mustang.

Blurry Mustang

Alright! When 2 passions unite, it better be good. And looking at these billboards for the new Ford Mustang, it looks good indeed. The coolest thing is the technology used to do this, because there are not just big images that blend in with the background. At Ian Hart’s website you can read:

“Constructed from GE Lexan EXL semi-transparent resin, the billboard accurately blurs the scene behind it regardless of day, weather or season.”

Now if that ain’t cool! Here’s what they look like:
