Mustang Pick-Up
From the ‘here-is-a-Mustang-you-don’t-see-every-day’ department, after the Trike or the Station Wagon, we bring you the Mustang Pick-Up. Nice find from the Mustangblog on Ebay. The auction is still on (as we write this) and current bids go to $500 (reserve not met yet). The auction does mention the Mustang needs full restoration… that is if you even want it of course ;)

Meet Mary-Lou
Or Daisy, Sandy, Annabel, … and all the other Mustangs you can hire at Sidney Mustangs. Whether it is for a wedding, a fashion shoot or whatever special occasion that’s the place to go. Now this isn’t meant to be as an advertisement so why do I want to talk about this one then? Simple, I was charmed by the fact they had named their cars like this. Not that I would ever consider doing that, not in the least with the names they’ve picked for this but still…
So go meet Holly, Daisy and the others right here.
Remember #9? It works…
… just not for me. Although it’s not in Portugal this time and the barn didn’t hold like a zillion oldtimers this time, it looks like someone found a 1965 Shelby GT350 in a barn somewhere in Ohio. The car had been there for 27 years in something that looks like a project that never got off the ground.
It was on auction on Ebay and somebody gave $4.500 for it, but he’ll have his hands full to get this baby running again.

Mustank?!
This is just unbelievable! This guy fitted his 1970 Mustang with a Sherman Tank Engine, you don’t even want to know how much power that is. I wonder if the car would even hold it whenever you push down the gas… well, it still is a Mustang of course so it probably will ;)

More images at Auto and Tuning blog. Now we’re only waiting at a little video to see hear it running.

… or how a guy is doing what I told you in #2 I can’t :)
It’s one of the few Mustang related blogs in my reader and it’s just a fascinating project to follow. The guy – Cameron – is not just building his own vintage Mustang, he’s building Eleanor.
With images of nearly every step and learnings from his journey along the way, it’s quite a good read. And no, not all of it has gone right. As in every business there are partners that can’t be trusted, but it seems like he’s getting there and I can’t wait to see the car when it’s done.
Good luck Cameron!
Junkyard jewels
For my earlier post I was searching for a good image of a Mustang wreck. I was using image search to do so (figured that would be the fastest way) and found some interesting wrecks on the web.
The images as you can see below don’t represent real cars, but these are ‘wrecks’ of Diecast replica’s (1/18 scale). Now that’s a curious hobby! At least they did a good job, especially the one of junkyardjewels.com could easily be sold on Ebay as a real car…
#2: A Mustang project
So buying one is not an option, well that is buying a Mustang that is 100% in order. But what if I bought myself a cheap one, a wreck or whatever you want to call it and re-build the car myself with my own hands. I can tell you, and those who know me will confirm that this idea is so unrealistic it shouldn’t even be on the list :-)

I basically got 2 left hands when it comes down to DIY. Too bad, because I could probably buy a cheap wreck (+/- 500$) and time is not an issue. Although buying all the separate parts will become expensive as you can see here. And looking at the image above, I guess all parts are needed.

I think you can fairly say option 2 is as valuable as a choice as option 1. Time to start thinking a bit more creative…
