Shelby “Black Hornet”

Okay, no need to look any further, this is the car I want. Carroll Shelby is selling this ‘68 Shelby EXP500 CSS out of his personal collection and all proceeds will go to the Carroll Shelby Children’s Foundation, which helps children worldwide battle life-threatening illnesses while promoting the importance of organ and tissue donation. The auction will start on December 2nd on Ebay.

Bidding begins at $100.000 which is enough to keep me out of the loop for potential future ownership unfortunately. Too bad, the car looks absolutely awesome! Here’s some more Mustang goodness, click on the image for hi res versions.

Mustang Pick-Up

From the ‘here-is-a-Mustang-you-don’t-see-every-day’ department, after the Trike or the Station Wagon, we bring you the Mustang Pick-Up. Nice find from the Mustangblog on Ebay. The auction is still on (as we write this) and current bids go to $500 (reserve not met yet). The auction does mention the Mustang needs full restoration… that is if you even want it of course ;)

Ford Mustang Trike

Now I bet that’s a model you haven’t heard of yet, but it’s real. Take a look at this 1967 Ford Mustang Trike that’s up for ‘grabs’ on Ebay. I’d rather people don’t cut classic Mustangs in two, but must the creator at least had a pretty original reason to do so.

#16: In da hood

They say that hanging out with the right people is always a good place to start to get what you want. Now since we all know that what I want is that good old vintage Mustang, I’ve decided to hang out in the Mustang neighborhood. I’m not sure if this is the right strategy in a hood like this, but we’ll see.

It was Marc Bresseel, a colleague of mine, who made me aware of the Ebay Neighborhoods project when he was talking about shopping and social navigation. It seems like the perfect integration indeed between selling a product and building a community around it. Now I probably won’t be that active as a member in this case, as buying one is not an option (as I told you long time ago). And I’m not going to be buying just some random parts to be part of the Neighborhood either :)

But as a Mustang fan, you still might want to check it out if you haven’t done so already. Mustang forums, reviews, images, … and of course auctions all on one page. Nice work from Ebay, check it out.
